Raven's Wood Preparedness Training Center provides wilderness
adaptation skills training for those with a desire to learn what it takes to "come back alive"
when put in circumstances that go beyond what they may experience in their daily lives.
It's not just
about living in the woods, either! Classes and training are available on various subjects for the suburbanite or city
dweller on what to do when "the chips are down". These skills are priceless during major power outages, storm
aftermath, or other emergencies.
Choose from "day trip" classes at Camp Savoy (located approximately
15 miles east of beautiful Cheboygan, Michigan) that familiarize the novice with the sights, sounds, and experiences
in deep forest country to weekend "tent outings" complete with cast iron cuisine to corporate "team building"
adventures designed to bring out the spirit necessary to 'finish first' in corporate scenarios.
For the most
serious minded, high adventure "advanced" classes on Primitive Skills Adaptation training and trips are available
where the participant receives instruction in shelter building, fire making, water purification, and is provided a very
limited amount of amenities to complete a challenging and rewarding week.
The Raven's Wood staff will show you how to exceed your current capabilities, become more confident,
and more able to take care of yourself, your friends, and your family in bad times.
Corporate and Executive Team Builders: Think about
how well you know your co-worker or team members. How well do they perform under pressure? Do you know their real
character traits? Are they courageous? Timid? How much leadership potential do they possess?
You'll get the answer to these and other questions when you see the real person emerge when they're placed in unfamiliar
surroundings and situations. Training scenarios and adventures can be customized to fit the goals of the company leader.
Team exercises, orienteering, food preparation, and problem solving - you will know your team when you experience
Raven's Wood!
