Family & Home Preparedness - This halfday long course includes learning how to prepare a plan for likely scenarios, building a family
"larder", GOOD* kit construction, home protection and emergency food choices and preparation. This course
should be conducted in your home to ensure a customized plan (one way mileage stipend required) or it
can be done at Raven's Wood or at a location mutually agreeable with RWE and the client; handouts and course material
provided. If conducted at Raven's Wood or non-home location, participants are responsible for food/beverages for themselves
unless arrangements made with RWE staff. For groups, a four hour seminar is available at a location of your
choosing. Send for details. Cost is predicated on number of participants. Volume is your friend!
Cost: $100 per family (1 Dad, 1 Mom & kids - All supplies provided by participants - a
llst will be provided prior to class.)
Area
Egress - How do you GOOD (Get Out Of Dodge) when things go bad? This 2 hour seminar takes the participant
through route selection, destination planning, and rehearsal so that if the need arises to GOOD, in mere minutes you and yours
can be enroute to your safe house. Basic Woodscraft - This 8 hour course includes familiarization
training on orienteering, fire starting, shelter building, survivial kit construction, and includes a campfire meal sure to
"hit the spot"!Cost: $95 per person
(groups of 6 - 10 people - $75 per person) Family Pricing: $175 for a family of
4 (2 adults & two minors. $25 fee for each additional minor required). $160 for couples.
Team Building
- This day long course teaches teamwork using the beautiful northern Michigan wilderness as a teaching tool!
The first half-day includes familiarization on orienteering, obstacle crossing, and basic survival skills. After
a survival ration lunch (more than enough to fill you up), each team will negotiate a predetermined course and navigate
various obstacles (both natural and man made) over one half mile in length that will require each team to work together
to successfully complete the course. Corporate managers who want to their folks to learn how to keep going in the face
of unfamiliar challenges, this is the course for you! It's also great for couples, friends, clubs, and so on.
Cost: 2 to 4 partipants in the group: $200 per person 5 to 6 participants in the group: $175 per person 6 to 10 participants in the group: $150 per person

Basic Survival - This 24 hour course (Saturday
morning through late Sunday morning) takes the participant through basic surival training and orienteering' the
first step into the world of self-reliance! Shelter built and lived in by the student, fires are made by the
student using skills learned so that food can be prepared, and basic hygiene is performed in the field. It's not easy,
but when you're done, you'll know you can do what you need to if the chips are ever down! All survival rations and 1
gallon of potable water are provided for each student.
Cost:$150 per person (2 person minimum -
groups of 4 or more - cost $125 per person)
Intermediate Survival - This 2 day course
(Friday morning through late Sunday morning) includes a review of everything taught in Basic Survival plus
knife care and sharpening, proper whet stone use, use of the tomahawk or hand axe as a survival tool, construction of the
survival 'go pack', and basic survival weapon selection and marksmanship fundamentals. The participant will be
provided one ration equivalent to approximately 1400 calories per day and 1 gallon of water. Additional water and
food must be acquired through skills learned by the participant.
Cost:
$250 per person (2 person minimum - groups of 4 or more - cost $225 per person)
Advanced
Survival - This 4 day course (Wednesday morning through late Sunday morning) places the student already well versed
in basic survival skills into a more 'high speed' survival environment. First Aid, weather mitigation, adverse condition
negotiation, and living in a hostile natural environment are taught and applied by each participant. The nature of this
course does not allow for novice survivalist participation; this course is extremely challenging.
Cost:
$400 per person (4 person minimum - groups of 6 or more - cost $350 per person)
Winter Survival
- This 24 hour course (Saturday morning through Sunday morning) takes the particpant into the harsh world of deep winter
survival at temperatures that can reach 30 below zero with snow levels up to thigh depth! The student will build his
or her own shelter and set up for over-night winter living with no amenities whatsoever. This is not for the beginner!
Each student is required to have snow shoes, trekking poles, a sled, and certify that they are in good enough physical shape
to walk at least two miles in rough country through the snow pulling a sled with their gear. This course is usually
conducted in February and is only done once each year, so get your slot reserved now! (Reservations taken in December only.)

Field Clothing
Depending on the time of year, each person should plan on having
sturdy, field worthy clothing and a good set of boots (essential!) Rain gear of some type is a good idea during all
but winter, and should you be participating in a winter class, specific recommendations will be made prior to your participation.
Goretex brand clothing is highly recommended for both waterproofing/shedding and wind deflection.
When
registering, please ask any questions you may have on specfic clothing or other gear you may want to bring with you.
Area Lodging: Most courses are conducted on a Saturday
starting at approximately 8:00 AM. For those driving from outside the Cheboygan area, we usually recommend arrival the
night before and lodging at one of the local motels which are reasonably priced and very comfortable. We
